Painting makes me whole.

I’m a painter based in London, United Kingdom.

My journey as an artist began in primary school, when I fell in love with a small loom and created tiny carpets. Later, I joined an acting group, recited at school celebrations, and took part in various artistic activities.

However, after finishing school, my life took a different path, and for a long time, I stopped creating. I remained an enthusiastic admirer—appreciating the work of others, but not actively making art myself.

Many years later, after a serious illness, I had to rethink and reorganise my life. Inspired by a friend, I began learning graphic design. Still, I found myself wishing I could draw better.

Then something changed. When I picked up drawing again, I felt a spark I hadn’t experienced in years—like rediscovering a part of myself I didn’t even know was missing. I started with graphite pencils, then moved on to charcoal, coloured pencils, and pastels, followed by watercolours, acrylics, and finally oil paints.

While I love and still use all these media, oil has become my favourite. I’m drawn to its richness and depth, and the way its bold, vibrant colours allow me to fully express emotion.

I primarily work using alla prima and impasto techniques, which give my paintings a sculptural, expressive quality. I don’t aim for hyperrealism; instead, I focus on atmosphere and emotion—using colour, light, and shadow to bring a subject to life.

In portraiture, my goal goes beyond likeness. I strive to capture the essence of a person or pet—their presence, their energy. It’s a beautiful challenge, and one I embrace with enthusiasm.

My intention as a painter is to create meaningful artworks to celebrate people, animals, the beauty of nature and our connection to it. I also hope to encourage others to discover the inspiring power of art and to create their own work.

Through my ‘Blog’ and ‘In the Studio’ pages, I aim to share my passion for drawing and painting through my writing and videos, exploring this vast and beautiful world—one that brings so much joy.

I hope my work brings you happiness or transports you, even if only for a moment. I truly believe that art has the power to make the world better—to evoke emotion, inspire thought, and foster understanding and harmony among people and all living beings.

I dedicate my life and this website to art, to show life through my eyes in all its many forms, and to the belief that even in difficult times, there is always hope. We can always find a new dream, start a new life - no matter our age or circumstances - and take steps toward it.
